St. Patrick's day

It’s going to be a crazy St. Patrick’s Day in the Clifton area this year. You can choose from a parade, a celebration, and some time at your local Irish pub. With so many choices, how can you decide what to do? Get the details on each option and make your St. Paddy’s day plans.

Nutley St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Kick the celebration off early by attending the 40th Annual Nutley Irish American Association St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 3. The parade will start on Franklin Avenue at 1 p.m. and will be led by Grand Marshal Patrick Colligan. He spent his career in law enforcement, and he’s now the NJ State PBA president. His Irish roots can be traced all the way to the Civil War, so he’s the perfect choice to celebrate Irish pride. Watch Patrick and the rest of the gang celebrate New Jersey’s rich Irish heritage.

St. Paddy’s Hoboken Celebration

Are you more of a partier than a parade-goer? Then you need to go to Hoboken for the Annual LepreCon St. Paddy’s Celebration. It’s also on March 3, and it’s the perfect way to do a little partying before the holiday. Get the All Access Pass to get into all the participating venues for free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The alcohol will be flying off the shelves at the various bars, and there will be some Irish pride festivities going on, as well. Keep in mind that it does get packed, so get there early so you can slip in first. Of course, if the bar you’re at is too crowded, you can just walk over to another one. More than 20 venues are going to participate in this event.

The Shannon Rose Irish Pub

When it comes to celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, you can’t beat The Shannon Rose Irish Pub. The St. Patrick’s Day celebration is so big that one day isn’t enough. It’s running from March 15–18. There will be live music, food from Ireland, Irish step dancers, and all the drinks you could want. Oh, and if you have kids, bring them to the Kids’ St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 10. Dress them in a leprechaun consumes so they can participate in the contest. They’ll also enjoy face painting, a scavenger hunt, and more.
