It’s finally August, and that means it’s time to celebrate at the Passaic County Fair. This year’s festivities will occur on Aug. 12–15 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Garret Mountain Reservation. It’ll be stocked with performances, food, and of course, plenty of rides. Live music is always one of the highlights at the Passaic County Fair. Thus far, the organizers have only announced one of the performers. Local favorite The Kootz will take the stage on Aug. 12, where they’ll treat fans to hits like “A Day in the Life,” “Abracadabra,” and “Any Way You Want It.” Just try to stop yourself from dancing and singing along. It’s basically impossible.
While that’s the only band listed thus far, you can expect four days of popular tunes from talented bands. The fair always hosts an assortment of performers that play family-friendly songs. Many of the performers are local artists, so you can discover some new music during the event.
Chow Down on Food
While the fair hasn’t announced the food vendors yet, you can rest assured that there will be delicious eats as far as the eye can see. Previous fairs have offered an assortment of choices, from standard fair foods to ice cream. Let’s just say you don’t want to eat before you head over. That would be a serious fair foul.
Shop at Vendor Booths
You can buy more than food at the fair. There will also be vendor booths, where you can find a ton of goodies. From T-shirts to jewelry, you can get your shop on at the fair. Park close to the entrance if you can because you might end up buying so much that you’ll need to drop your bags off in the car.
Catch the Fireworks
Did you miss the fireworks on the Fourth of July? No worries, because you can see them at the fair. There’ll be massive firework displays on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15. The organizers always go all out with the fireworks, so you won’t want to miss it. In fact, it’s so impressive that if you watch the first night, you’ll probably make a point to attend the second night.

Fly Around on the Rides
Oh, and a trip to the fair wouldn’t be complete without hitting the rides. The fair will have standard carnival rides, so you can zip around and get some thrills. With rides for little ones and thrill-seekers, there truly is something for everyone.
