Clifton turns 100 years old this year, and as you can imagine, the city is ready to celebrate. There will be all kinds of centennial events going on, and you will want to join in the action. Planned events will give you a great way to celebrate the city’s birthday, and you don’t even have to bring a gift along (it’s the best type of birthday party). Here are the three events we recommend fitting into your schedule to enjoy the best the city has to offer:

Some Enchanted Evening

The Theater League of Clifton will present a Rodgers and Hammerstein Musical Review of Some Enchanted Evening in celebration of the centennial. The performers will hit the stage on May 5th-7th and 12th-14th at the Aprea Theater. The musical features five performers who initially interact in a backstage setting, before moving to an on-stage setting. You will hear one hit after the next if you attend this performance. It will give you a lot of hometown pride as you watch five talented locals perform.

Masquerade Cocktail Party

The Masquerade Cocktail Party is sure to be a hit with the 21-and-over crowd. Come up with a masquerade costume and go to the Athenia Veterans Post on May 13th. The details are still emerging, so keep an eye out.

Centennial Parade

The Centennial Parade will likely be the biggest event in town. It is going to take place on May 21st and will begin at 2 pm. The parade will consist of marchers, floats, and bands. It will start at Colfax and Clifton Avenue and move forward to Main Avenue, proceeding toward its finish at Park Slope Main Memorial Park. If you are interested in lending a hand, contact the Centennial Parade Committee. You might be able to join the committee and lend your expertise to the parade.

The centennial gives you a good reason to celebrate, and you can keep that celebration going with a visit to Garden State Honda in Clifton/Passaic, New Jersey. Pick up a new Honda so you will always have a reason to celebrate. You will feel like celebrating every time you step into your vehicle.
