Are you interested in summer camps for your little ones? Now is the time to start planning. You can attend one of the NJ Camp Fairs to find out which camps are best for your kids. The fairs are free to attend, and they are full of information to help you make your decision.
There are six NJ Camp Fairs taking place this year. They’re held from Jan. 13 through Jan. 28 at various locations. Each fair runs from noon to 3 p.m.

- The Outlets at Bergen Center on Jan. 13
- Freehold Raceway Mall on Jan. 14
- Quakerbridge Mall on Jan. 20
- The Grand Summit on Jan. 21
- Menlo Park Mall on Jan. 27
- Livingston Mall on Jan. 28
Each location features different summer camp options.
What to Expect
You might think you’ll go in and talk to a camp counselor, but that’s not how these camp fairs work. Camp directors from sleep-away and day camps are in attendance, and they’re available to answer your questions. You’ll also get a booklet with information about the various camps at each of the fairs. You can use the booklet to find out if you prefer one of the camps at a different fair.
Plus, there will be snacks and giveaways throughout the event. Stay for the entire event so you will have a better chance of winning something.
Bring Your Questions Along
It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you attend a camp fair. There are so many directors there that you can forget what to ask. Bring a list of questions with you. Talk with your child when creating your list so you can ask your questions as well as your child’s questions. You will likely want different types of information, so this will ensure that everyone is on the same page.
